Dealer demo car for a GM or something. That is my guess. I believe they can still technically sell it as new.

So? So! Sooooo.
I didn’t have a further point.

I could buy my car 9x at its current value.

Is this a deal? I know the RS is hard to come by, especially near MSRP, but you have to imagine those are 440 miles of extremely hard driving. Drift mode isn’t going to test itself...

JTFC
I could buy 181.375 Miatas for that
or
36.275 Jaaags
or
24.183 E39 540i Manuals

If drift mode were tested, it would be a salvage title! lol
Seriously though, they’re nearly impossible to find under msrp (not that I’m looking to buy), so yes, it’s a deal.
And I disagree with your automatic assumption that they are 440 hard miles. Have you ever paid that much for a performance car? I have. And those of us that pay that much tend to care about our car and we like to break them in properly.

I disagree here. I have owned new performance cars and break them in like motorcycle engines I rebuild, high rpm and load to seat the rings properly. Generally the only reason there is a “drive like a pansy” break in period is so friction surfaces will not glaze (specifically the clutch)

I don’t drive it like a pansy, but I don’t beat the shit out of it immediately. That is the implication here.

Ahh gotcha, I misunderstood then. Yeah that fine line between driving hard and being abusive is probably why so many manufacturers have such unnecessary break in requirements.
One of the guys who I learned from was fond of saying, “drive a fresh engine like it’s going to be driven for it’s life”. So mine usually get a spirited drive as soon at they get up to temp the first time.
